GREAT WEEKEND!

A turn in the weather has made the valley of the sun feel more like Seattle. From 85 degrees Friday to 57 degrees right now, with rain showers...it's just a fun day to watch the weather. A great day to write...Nick's new adventure SCORPION is progessing well. Thanks to all those who bought books last night at the St. Patty's day party. Your support is amazing. Looking forward to the book signing this coming weekend at Gifts to Go in Surprise, AZ. Saturady from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Hope to see you all there. It's located at 113th ave. and Bell in the Barnaby Street Shops on the North side of Bell.

WHAT ARE THE WASHBURN CHRONICLES?

My name is Ron Darling, I am the author of the Washburn Chronicles. I have been an avid reader of many authors and especially Vince Flynn, Brad Thor and Clive Cussler for many years. Their work has always inspired me and eventually led me to sitting down and writing Serpent. While writing it I realized I was opening a story line that could be never ending. A chronicle of the hero's ancestors and their contributions to our world. Nick Washburn is the current hero for our time, he is "that guy" the one the president calls when something has to be done that no one else can handle. Like SEAL team 6 is in real life he does what no one else is capable of in my novel. His story is one of DNA. His father, and his father's father and ancestors all the way back to the Kings of France have been the ones people looked to in times of need. The current stories Serpent and coming soon Scorpion tell tales of Nick and his team, as well as many other heros and what they do and go through for all of us. In future books I will venture into the past and tell stories of his ancestors...those who were "that guy" and in some cases "that gal" in times gone by.

My stories are a tribute to the real life heros, the men and women of our Armed Forces and Police, Firefighters, and the rest of Americans who strive to keep us the land of the free because they are the brave.

"Ron Darling has done a
great job on his first release. I have read many now famous authors first
efforts after the fact, and must say that this author has done a great opening
performance. Attention to detail with obvious knowledge of the terrain,
architecture and weaponry make it easy to slip into the read. The overall story
was very well thought out and flowed well. The book starts off a bit long on the
narrative but starts to accelerate at about the 25% mark. This is one of those
kind of books that most people will go back and read after the author is
"suddenly discovered" after 3 or 4 books, and the new reader gets hooked on the
character and wants to go back and read everything the author has written about
the hero. I have done that personally many times and feel fortunate that this
time I had the chance to get in on the ground floor and can now watch the author
and the character evolve. Again Mr. Darling, well done."
